It is this mysterious Parent who, unknowingly and far from the public eye, truly rules our financial and political world, controlling and using the Federal Reserve as one of the most powerful tools to realize its draconian goals. It orchestrates domestic and international affairs as it sees fit, creating conflicts and crises, wars and panics, so as to politically and financially benefit its members. Stephen unwittingly enters a world of corruption and fraud at levels unimagined and learns about government collaboration with known terrorists, and how the supply and/or disruption of essential commodities are used as instruments to redistribute the wealth of entire nations. And he learns the terrible lengths at which the Parent will go to reach its goals and what happens to those who oppose them. Finally he realizes that what he thought was trusted and sacred in our society, in reality is prearranged and manipulated.
Realizing he is in way over his head amidst this dangerous group, Stephen is forced to pay a dreadful price and becomes a man on the run. His personal life destroyed, his business ruined and branded a terrorist himself, he knows the Parent will stop at nothing to recover the evidence he obtained and silence him in the process.

Not only was this a good read it was informative as to the subject matter that was the Federal RESERVE and exactly who they really were and not what many including myself thought was a part of the US Government.
I did read it in 4 sessions during my holiday in Italy. Great read with very interesting insights in the current financial world with a new romantic hero that I can relate to very easily.
Great plot, with historical backdrops. Couldn't put it down !
This is a fascinating look at one of our most powerful and secretive global institutions. Mr. Langeraar's text is uncomplicated but compelling. I found this novel to be very hard to put down. I am hoping that Stephen Vinson has more stories for us in the future!
I liked this book - it kept me interested though out the read. I also enjoyed the mix of fact and fiction.
Federal was a great read. Finished it in one weekend because I could not put it down. It was as good as any action/adventure/suspense novel I have read. Also it has an underlying message of the very real sinister forces behind the power of our government. Hopefully it will open eyes as well as entertain. Already looking forward to its sequal.
Federal is a highly addictive thrill ride into the world of international finance and politics. Like a glass of fine scotch it should be savored, unfortunately I frank it all up in a day and a half! And now I will have to wait until Mr. Langeraar pens his next blend of intrigue. Hotse Langeraar s writing style in Federal rivals that of such accomplished authors as Dan Brown, Harlan Conan and Stephen I.e. Connell. Move over Jack Reacher! There's a new Sheriff in town and his name is Stephan Vinson!
